There is a social pressure inside a live client call that is easy to underestimate. You are performing competence in real time. Pushback requires preparation and preparation requires having already thought through your position before the call starts. What you actually gave away
Sometimes the thing you agreed to change is genuinely fine to change. But sometimes it is the decision that everything else in the design depends on. A proportion, a color relationship, a typographic choice that was doing more work than it appeared to be doing. When that piece moves, the whole system shifts. You spend the next three hours trying to compensate for a change you did not believe in and the file gets worse in ways that are hard to name but impossible to ignore.

Getting back to the position you abandoned
The most useful thing you can do after a morning like this is write down what you actually think before you open any revision. Not to be difficult. Not to protect your ego. But because your position deserves to be articulated clearly before it gets buried under accommodation. A short note to yourself about why the original decision existed, what it was solving and what gets lost without it, gives you something real to bring back to the client. That note is not a complaint. It is the start of a better conversation than the one you had yesterday.
